Will a Royal Baby Follow the Royal Wedding?

When a couple is seriously dating, they are often asked when they will get married. Once they've tied the knot, the first thing that people begin asking is when they'll have a baby. As probably the most famous engaged couple in the world, Prince William and Kate Middleton are sure to face these questions. We already know that they will get married on April 29. Now the speculation is about when they'll start a family and have a baby. Will Prince William and Kate Middleton have children?
As second-in-line to the throne, Prince William will definitely be under pressure to provide an heir. If Prince William and Kate Middleton have children, they will change the royal line of succession. Their children would automatically take precedence after Prince William. So--assuming that they have a child while both the Queen and Prince Charles are alive--their child would become third-in-line to the throne.
Also, family is important to both Prince William and Kate Middleton. They are close to their families, particularly their siblings (Prince Harry and Pippa respectively). It would seem natural for them to want to have children of their own.
Assuming that they do plan on having kids, when will they start a family?
Both Prince William and Kate Middleton are in their late 20's. This is by no means old, but it is old enough that they may feel ready to start a family soon. They don't have any financial concerns, and so worrying about affording children isn't an issue for them like it is for many newlyweds. Also, they have been a couple for such a long time that although marriage is an important commitment, they are already well established together.
At the moment, Kate Middleton is unemployed. Although she does have a degree and has worked in the past, she does not seem overly dedicated to a career. She has the time to be able to become a mother soon after the wedding.
Prince William is posted in Wales as an RAF pilot. The couple will live there after the wedding, so he will be present and able to focus on both his career and a family.

Happy alum: Prince William and Kate return to St Andrews
By MARTIN BENEDYK, Associated Press Martin Benedyk, Associated Press – Fri Feb 25, 12:18 pm ET
ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – They met here. They fell in love here. And when Prince William and Kate Middleton made a sentimental return to their college town, they were once again embraced by the locals who had fiercely defended their privacy.Thousands lined the cobblestoned streets of St. Andrews in Scotland on Friday, in hope of catching a glimpse of the royal couple. Well-wishers of all ages and nationalities stood six deep in some spots, stretching out flowers and hands ” hoping that a bit of the royal stardust would rub off.
The couple, who will wed April 29 at London's Westminster Abbey, traveled to St. Andrews to help their alma mater kick off a two-year celebration of its 600th anniversary. It was only their third public appearance since announcing their engagement in November.
The two met in St. Andrews as students. They were initially just friends, but an on-again, off-again romance bloomed on campus, developing into the full blown love affair that has captivated a nation.
Prince William called the visit a "special moment" for the couple as he addressed a reception in the university quadrangle as Middleton looked on from her seat on the stage. Middleton, who wore a red suit with black accents, smiled and pushed windswept hair off her face as she gazed at her fiance.
"It was almost as nerve-racking as doing my graduation up there again," he told reporters afterward.
The couple took time to mingle with the crowds, greeting and chatting with locals and students. At one point William moved ahead of Middleton, and she looked a little uncomfortable as she found herself shaking hands all alone.
"Where's William?" she asked, looking over her shoulder.
It was just a flicker of nervousness, though — once she spotted him, she resumed chatting.
Professor Louise Richardson, principal of the university, said it is not surprising the couple found love in this sleepy seaside town 70 miles (110 kilometers) north of Edinburgh on the eastern coast of Scotland. The college has 7,500 students.
"There is something magical about St. Andrews," she said. "We are said to have the highest number of students who find life partners at a university. So, it is no surprise they got together. It is unique here as we are global, but local and small enough to be intimate."
In what is believed to be the couple's first official wedding gift, Richardson said the university is bestowing a scholarship for underprivileged students worth 70,000 pounds ($113,000).
"This scholarship captures the essence of what we do here at St. Andrews," said Richardson. "It's open to anyone around the world who is smart enough to be admitted here but otherwise may struggle to cover the costs."
The couple also viewed the Papal Bull, or decree, issued by Pope Benedict XIII to found the university.
Pubs, shops and cafes in St. Andrews all embraced the royal couple as their own. The North Point Cafe on North Street lays claim to being the spot where the couple met and romance blossomed. It also sports a life-sized cardboard cutout of the couple in the window.
Owner Linda Cunningham, 39, sat at the table where Wills and Kate forged their romance — over cups of Chai Tea and chocolate brownies for him, Earl Grey tea and a healthy muesli and yogurt brunch for her. The table is in the middle of the cafe, suggesting how at ease they were with their surroundings.
"This is where they met," Cunningham said. "They would come in with friends or just together at this table. They were friendly and expected no special treatment. They were part of the scene here just like any other students."
At the Bonkers gift store in Market Street, staff said Prince William bought Valentine's Day cards there.
"Wills did buy a Valentine's card here one year, either in 2003 or 2004," said manager Ruth Wood. "We assumed, we hoped, it was for Kate. They were regulars here, often buying each other knickknacks and little gifts. It was sweet. We are delighted to be a small part of their romance."
As much as the town embraced the couple, it was clear they loved it back.
"You lucky things to be there all the time," Middleton told her well-wishers. "I really miss it actually."
William and Kate in Wales
Excited well-wishers gathered today to see Prince William and his bride-to-be, Kate Middleton, make their first public appearance since they announced their engagement.
The couple attended a service of dedication for a new RNLI lifeboat close to their home on Anglesey, North Wales.
Crowds of people turned up early at the pretty dockside, braving blustery winds and grey skies, to ensure they had a prime position to see William and Miss Middleton, who will marry at Westminster Abbey on April 29.
Onlookeers seemed particularly impressed that both William and Kate sung not only the British national
Lisa Taylor, 42, from Valley, said: "I think it's fantastic. The work the RNLI do around here is vital. To have such high-profile guests is great for them. It's going to be wonderful to see William and Kate. Really exciting."
Jean and Keith Critchley took their three-year-old grandson, Samuel, to the event.
The couple, who have a holiday home on Anglesey, said it would be good for the area.
Mrs Critchley, 63, from Warrington, Cheshire, said: "They are a lovely couple. He is a great lad and she is a beautiful girl."
Mary Shaw, 71, from Trearddur Bay, agreed.
"They are a lovely couple. They will get an excellent reception."
Claire James, from Chester, was accompanied by her three children - Charlie, 10, Beau, eight, and seven-year-old Sam.
She said: "I am very excited. My daughter wants to ask if they want a spare bridesmaid - she will step in!"
There was also huge media interest in today's visit, with Miss Middleton expected to embark on her first royal walkabout.
Crews from television stations from around the globe were camped out including staff from the BBC, Sky and ITV.
Mark Phillips, from CBS News in America, said the couple had captured the imagination of the nation.
"It's celebrity mixed with the jingle jangle of royal pomp," he said.
"This couple are very popular. I think it's because they are attractive, young and because he is Diana's son. And because it's a kind of a sweet romantic story at a time when the rest of the world is in flames."

Countdown to the Royal wedding on 29th April
Tourism officials in Britain are confident there'll be enough hotel rooms for visitors to the royal wedding in April.
An extra 600,000 people are expected to flood into London to catch a glimpse of the event, far inexcess of the number of hotel rooms in the capital.
But officials say many of the visitors won't need somewhere to stay as they'll be travelling in for the day from outside the city.
And the capital's hotel capacity will be boosted by local people renting out their homes.
It's three months before Prince William and Kate Middleton walk down the aisle of Westminster Abbey - and London is getting ready.
The spot where William and Kate will board their carriage after the wedding ceremony looks like a building site at the moment.
Workmen areresurfacing the square outside the Abbey gates, determined to ensure the area is looking its best when the big day dawns.
Hotels are getting ready too.

Royal wedding: route Kate Middleton will take to Westminster Abbey revealed
Details about the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton have been released, including the route the bride will travel to Westminster Abbey.
The plans are revealed the day before Miss Middleton appears on the cover of a special royal wedding edition of Tatler in a mock-up of Andy Warhol's famous 1962 Marilyn Monroe screen prints.
Clarence House confirmed that Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, will conduct the April 29 wedding service.
The couple will return to Buckingham Palace in a carriage procession along a route which will include Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall.
Once inside the Palace, the Queen will give a reception for the couple and guests drawn from the congregation representing the couple's official and private lives.
"Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton have made more decisions on their upcoming wedding," Clarence House said on the Twitter micromessaging service.

Queen will determine Kate Middleton's title
LONDON -- If you're invited to the royal wedding, don't go buying Kate Middleton an engraved gift - the poor woman doesn't know yet what her title's going to be.
She will be a princess, possibly a duchess, perhaps even a countess. But the exact title is unlikely to be divulged until shortly before April 29, the day she officially joins "the firm" - as the lordly British royal family is known. Most women face a straightforward choice when they prepare to walk down the aisle: Take their husband's name, keep their own, or combine the two with a hyphen. But Middleton's title, which will dictate what she is called, will be determined by Queen Elizabeth II, not Middleton herself.
Some of the options are not great. Royal experts say it is possible Middleton could end up with the formal name Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales, a moniker that deflates the aura of the fairytale nuptials. The title makes sense from a traditional point of view - and that's important when dealing with the queen and her minions - but it's just not very feminine.
"It's not feasible for her to be known as Princess William of Wales," said Noel Cox, chief of the legal department at Aberystwyth University in Wales. "It's not comfortable. I don't think they'll do that."
The rules and precedents that will guide the queen and her inner circle have been in use for centuries - and some of those conventions are showing their age.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers said the types of names that have been used in the past - Princess Michael of Kent is a good example - do not sound right to contemporary ears.
"Those kind of titles are out of date," he said. "But theoretically she can't just be called Princess Catherine, that would imply that she was the daughter of Prince Charles rather than the daughter-in-law."
He said, however, the queen has the authority to do as she sees fit after consulting her advisers and could make Middleton Princess Catherine despite this technical obstacle.
"They can do what they want," he said. "I think Princess Catherine has a nice sound. I say why shouldn't she be Princess Catherine since she'll become Queen Catherine."
The dilemma arises in part because of the queen's extremely long reign. Since she is still in power after nearly six decades, her son, Prince Charles, as heir to the throne, still holds the title of the Prince of Wales.
That means William has not yet become the Prince of Wales - a title that traditionally goes to the heir to the throne - and does not hold a formal position, like the Duke of Cambridge, that could be automatically bestowed on Middleton, making her the Duchess of the same place.
If Charles were already king, William - as heir to the throne - would almost automatically have been made the Prince of Wales and his new bride would become the Princess of Wales, the title once held by the late Princess Diana.
Since that is not the case, she would technically become "HRH Princess William of Wales" when they marry - unless the queen first makes William a duke, which would make Middleton a duchess, or makes him an earl, which would make her a countess.
Everyone got that?
There is little doubt that a title like "the Duchess of Cambridge" - one of the localities that is available - would be preferable to "Princess William of Wales" for Middleton, so some experts believe the royals will go this route. It also fits in with the tradition of giving a prince a dukedom or an earldom when he takes a bride.
When the queen's youngest son, Prince Edward, married in 1999, the queen made him the Earl of Wessex on the occasion, and his bride Sophie became the Countess of Wessex.
Others believe William might politely turn down the honor, since he is already well known throughout the world as Prince William, and may harbor plans to eventually streamline and modernize the monarchy by making it less formal.
But royal commentator Dickie Arbiter said it is highly unlikely William would turn down a dukedom.
"It's a courtesy title that will fall away once William becomes Prince of Wales, and it would be more convenient in terms of Catherine," he said. "And it would be a helluva story if it became known the queen offered him a dukedom and he turned it down."
In some circles, the whole question of titles has already been resolved. Regardless of what the queen does, Arbiter said it is likely that Middleton will be known - at least to Britain's tabloid newspapers and their millions of readers - as Princess Kate.
Meanwhile, royal aides say Prince William and Kate Middleton are considering asking guests at their April 29 wedding to make donations to charity instead of sending them wedding gifts.
A spokesman who asked not to be identified because of royal family policy told The Associated Press on Sunday this option was being considered but no firm decision had been made.
"It is one thing being studied," the spokesman said, adding that details have not been worked out.
A substantial amount of money could possibly be raised for charity this way.
Under the plan, close friends and family could still give the couple traditional wedding gifts.
The royal couple, who will have access to tremendous wealth, are said to be determined to make sure their wedding is not seen as overly ostentatious at a time when the British economy is hurting.
The guest list has not yet been released. The ceremony at Westminster Abbey will be followed by a Buckingham Palace reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II, William's grandmother, and later a gala dinner-dance hosted by Prince Charles, William's father.
£515M ROYAL WEDDING ECLIPSED BY DIANA’S
Prince William, 28, will marry Kate Middleton, 29, at Westminster Abbey on April 29
Wednesday February 23,2011
THE Royal wedding is set to generate half a billion pounds for UK retailers – just a quarter of what Charles and Diana’s big day rang up.
In 1981, the wedding of the Prince of Wales and the late princess contributed £680million to the British economy – the equivalent of £2.2billion today, adjusted for inflation.
More than 600,000 tourists jetted to London while another 750 million watched the ceremony on television.
Thirty years on and Prince William, 28, will marry Kate Middleton, 29, at Westminster Abbey on April 29.
While the excitement is mounting, the Centre for Retail Research predicts the event will only bring in £515million for UK retailers.
The 1981 wedding is thought to have cost around £30million. Kate and William’s will be substantially less extravagant, with the Royal family thought to be sensitive to the current financial difficulties faced by many Britons.
But with more than 6.5 million people across the UK expected to mark the nuptials, research commissioned by Kelkoo shows that food and drink sales are expected to account for 46 per cent of the total expenditure, with £236.5million expected to be spent. Analysts said they anticipated £97.5million of that will be spent on alcoholic drinks, including half a million bottles of champagne. Sales of souvenirs, memorabilia, and wedding related merchandise are expected to generate £222.3million, including five million commemorative coins, three million mugs and pottery products, and replica jewellery worth an estimated £10million and books, biographies and albums which are expected to net around £45million. The UK will also benefit from increased tourism, with an extra 320,000 visitors from overseas, generating a total of £56.7million.
Luxury wedding planner Mark Niemierko said: “Overall, I think British interest in the wedding is slightly less than it was when Charles and Diana got married. But, the excitement will probably build as the date gets closer.”
He added that one of the main reasons for the decrease in spending for this year’s Royal wedding was “consumers making different choices about what they buy”.
“People used to buy lots of collectable items, but now people don’t collect things as much, so the spend on memorabilia, for example, will be far less than it was in 1981,” he explained.

THESE photos give a marvellous insight into the off-duty life of the Royals.
I've snapped the family thousands of times, but some of these give me great enjoyment. The only sad note for me is the picture of Prince William as a young child with Sarah Ferguson.
They were so close, she loves William so much - it surprised me that she won't be going to his wedding.
It's a real sign of the times that the Queen let these snaps be published. Once it wouldn't have been discussed, but Her Majesty now recognises they are beautiful pictures that she wants to share with Sun readers.
THE Queen stirs tea in a plastic picnic cup, Prince Philip gazes wistfully over fields - and a carefree Fergie grins beside Diana and ex Andrew at a Windsor Castle bash.
These candid images are among a unique treasure trove of informal royal snaps found in an ATTIC by an astonished Sun reader. We handed over his 40 photos to the grateful Queen - and in return she gave us permission to publish these seven never-before-seen images.
Many of the intimate pictures, which date back over a 40-year period, capture family members relaxing at Balmoral and Windsor.
Others in the collection show Philip with youngest son Edward, a glamorous, pink-clad Princess Margaret - also shown attending a banquet with the Queen Mother - and Fergie with an infant Prince William on a pony at Windsor stables.

Royal Wedding Invites!
I am not surprised that Obama's were not invited to the wedding. Yes Prince William is 2nd in line for throne. This wedding is state affair and business will be closed for the Wedding. Their are so many other royals will be invited and some are relatives of the British Royal Family.Plus William and Kate wanted close friends and people that are important in their lives. Kate has very big family on both sides.President and First Lady got invite to London in May and will stay at Buckingham Palace which is a huge deal.
President Barack Obama and other world leaders were also left off the attendance list, although British Prime Minister David Cameron and foreign royal families were included. According to The Sunday Times, this is due to William being second in line to the throne, and not the heir.

Kate Middleton's no style queen': Vivienne Westwood's gives her verdict on Prince William's fiancee
Last updated at 11:16 PM on 21st February 2011
We don’t know who will create Kate’s wedding dress – but after some cutting words yesterday, it’s not likely to be Dame Vivienne Westwood.
The controversial 69-year-old designer appeared to suggest that the bride-to-be was not stylish enough to wear one of her outfits.
‘I would have loved to have dressed Kate Middleton but I have to wait until she kind of catches up a bit somewhere with style,’ she said.
Snub: Vivienne Westwood, pictured after her Red Label show last night, claims Kate Middleton, right, still has some way to go in the style stakes
Only last week Dame Vivienne snubbed Harry Potter actress Emma Watson in the same manner, saying that she had never heard of her.
The designer made her latest comments as she prepared to show her new collection as part of London Fashion Week.
Front row guests: Jaime Winstone, Elaine Winstone, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts at Vivienne Westwood's Red Label Show
All rise: Jo Wood, Matt Smith and Paloma Faith also attended the show at London's Royal Courts of Justice
Vivienne Westwood's show, at London's Royal Courts of Justice, was one of the best attended shows so far. Celebrities seated in the front row included a dark haired Sarah Harding and her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts.Fellow singer Paloma Faith also dressed up for the occasion - sporting a big orange lily in her hair and a bright green belt.
Doctor Who actor Matt Smith and Jamie Winstone also attended - supporting their girlfriend and housemate Daisy Lowe who was modelling some of Vivienne Westwood's creations.
Outlandish: Vivienne's designs are probably 'too wacky' for the future queen
Caricature: Vivienne themed the show on the Royal Family meets Alice in Wonderland
Dame Vivienne, who rose to fame making clothes for punks in the 1970s, showed she is still as irreverent as ever in her attitudes to the royals. The collection – with a theme of ‘Royal Family meets Alice In Wonderland’ – featured felt crowns and birds’ nest hairstyles, as well as pinstriped suits and bowler hats.
Uncivil suits: The elaborate shows was staged at London's Royal Courts of Justice
Crowns were also made out of the models’ own hair, styled with wire.Jo Wood, former wife of Rolling Stone Ronnie, who was among the celebrities at the show, said that Dame Vivienne’s style would probably have been ‘too wacky’ for a future queen.
An opinion with which Kate might well agree.
Out-weirding Westwood: Charlie Le Mindu's catwalk show included a fabric and hair gas mask worn by a topless model
The quirkiness of Vivienne's collection - complete with models who looked like they'd applied their smudged make-up in the dark - had nothing on Charlie Le Mindu's clothes. Or rather the lack of them. From the second the first model stepped onto the catwalk, seemingly naked bar a hat that shouted 'violence' and a few litres of blood, Le Mindu's creations got stranger and stranger.
Highlights included a fabric and hair gas mask, a skirt also made of hair and a huge punk hairstyle.
Probably a little too wacky for Kate Middleton too.
