KATE Middleton chose her wedding dress designer months ago, according to Prince William.
The claim was made as one of Princess Diana’s favourite designers last night emerged as a contender for the commission.
A source said: “William bumped into Freddie Windsor just after they announced the engagement last November and told him the designer had already been decided, although he couldn’t say who it was because he didn’t know. But he said Kate had decided and that it was a done deal.”
Catherine Walker & Co is the name doing the rounds in royal circles as the April 29 nuptials draw closer.
Catherine Walker died last year from cancer but her design legacy lives on.
She created more than 1,000 outfits for Diana and has been described as a “key figure” in her life.
